2005 Annual Presentation

The annual presentation for Leicester Celtic took place on Sunday 6th November in Stackstown Golf Club. This year the guests of honour were, Seamus Brennan, Minister for Social and Family Affairs and Tommy Heffernan, Chairman of the DDSL. In addition we had a special guest attending in Richie Baker, current Shelbourne player.
Last season saw the U11 Major team win their League. This team was managed by Tony O’Connor.
In addition we saw the U18 Premier (see photo below) team complete the double, with League and Cup titles. They were also runners up in the Willie Kissane Invitational Tournament, which they had won the previous year. The team was managed by Declan Ellison.
We also had the U12 B1 team coming runners up in their league. Team managed by Mick Sheehan.
In the small sided game we had league honours with the U8A1 Sunday team, managed by Eamonn Doyle. We also had runners up in the league for:
U7B Sun team, managed by Gabriel Silke, 
U8B1 Sun team, managed by Brian Dempsey, 
U8B1 Sat team, managed by Derek Moran,
Finally there were two special awards presented, the first being the DDSL Fair Play Award which was awarded to Leicester Celtic by the DDSL. Secondly, the recognition of long service award was presented to Billy Freeland for his dedication and commitment to the club over the past 20+ years. Billy started off his career in football playing for Leicester under the guidance of Mick Flaherty, co founder of the club back in 1967.
