Rathfarnham Cup

A brilliant festival of football was on display in Leicester Celtic earlier today, as 16 teams contested the inaugural Rathfarnham Cup and Shield tournaments 2019.

Over 170 u11 kids entertained spectators with some great displays of skills and ability, playing in 80 matches over 6 exceptional pitches in the final weekend before the DDSL SSG season kicks off next weekend.

Both competitions were eventually won by 2 visiting teams from the Northside of the city, with Shelbourne beating Cabinteely in the Final of the cup and Home Farm beating Tallaght Town in the Final of the shield.

A big thank you to everyone in Leicester Celtic FC who helped with arranging the setup of this fantastic tournament which will be a permanent fixture in the football calendar after the success of it this year.
